La’Ofek was founded in 2006 as JobKatif by Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon in response to the employment crisis facing 3,000 evacuees from Gush Katif. Building on its remarkable success, JobKatif became La’Ofek, which now leverages its extensive expertise to support diverse populations facing crisis or risk situations across Israeli society.
Our Organization La’Ofek specializes in empowering individuals at critical junctures in their lives to achieve personal and financial independence. We develop targeted programming that integrates education, employment and personalized mentoring. Each program is designed after analyzing the unique challenges and barriers facing the specific target population, ensuring comprehensive and effective solutions.
We at La’Ofek believe that there are no weak people—only challenging circumstances which create points of weakness. Every person has the potential to grow and flourish, when provided with appropriate opportunities and tools. Our unique programs create a holistic support system that cultivates personal empowerment among those facing risks or challenges. Through ongoing guidance, education, reskilling and upskilling, and career integration, we enable participants to achieve both economic and social independence, break free from risk cycles, and become agents of change in their own lives. At La’Ofek, we transform belief in human potential into tangible action and results.
To forge pathways toward an optimal future for sidelined populations within Israeli society through individually tailored programming for each person and his community. We are driven by an unwavering conviction in each person’s capacity to transform his life and independently shape his future. Our mission is to provide individuals with essential tools, to generate meaningful opportunities, and to cultivate the capabilities inherent in each person, thereby enabling each person to maximize his full potential and catalyze meaningful change both on a personal and societal level.
